Overall Objective

The overall objective of the Integrated Project is to contribute to the full implementation of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) in Sofia Municipality, Burgas, Ruse, Stara Zagora, Veliko Tarnovo, and Montana.

Specific Objectives

  • Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the six municipalities as a result of the implementation of SUMP measures
  • Building sustainable administrative capacity within the six municipalities
  • Raising awareness and creating a well-informed and motivated community of citizens to act as partners of municipal administrations in the implementation of SUMPs
  • Increasing awareness and knowledge among Bulgarian municipalities on issues related to sustainable urban mobility and climate, and replication of the project results in other Bulgarian municipalities
  • Communication and engagement of stakeholders in support of SUMP implementation, increasing their activity in implementing complementary measures and attracting financing for such complementary measures
