Elaboration of Guidelines for Implementation of Municipal Environmental Protection Programs and elaboration of Two Pilot Programs for the municipalities Belogradchik and Pazardjik

The main objective of the project is the development of Municipal Environmental Protection Programs for the municipalities Belogradchik and Pazardjik.

Period of implementation: 1999 – 2000

Contracting authority: Regional Ecological Center for Central and Eastern Europe

The following main activities were implemented within the framework of the project:

Elaboration of Environmental Protection Programs for the two pilot municipalities – Belogradchik and Pazardjik;
Analysis of the current situation for the opportunities for funding of municipal environmental projects;
Assessment of the efficiency of natural resource utilization in the two municipalities;
Conducting financial and economy analyses by sectors and factors of impact;
Elaboration of the section relating to waste management;
Preparation of materials for conducting seminars for training of trainer, preparation and organization of the lectures and training exercises.
